I have a block out of my 1973 Thing. The end play measures about .032 The crank could be salvaged. $50.00 for the whole thing?
That sounds good to me where can I get it

'73 Thing... 40hp?
Well I actually have the guts for a 1600 and the case for a 40hp and 2 weeks out of work with knee surgery so I hope to build one or both motors depending on whats availible.(Sitting and Soaps aint my seen). Still will pay for a 40hp crank for the other.

1600 crank will drop in a 40 horse case. You will need spacers under your cylinders though to account for the added stroke...

hmmm... 40 horse stroker. Now add the larger 40hp piston kit and a Judson SC..... Now we're talking!
Extra thanks Oleyeller the blocks stripped down already and looks like a little line bore and thrust cut and we'll be in! Appreciate the deal and your time.
