Remember the one that used to be over at the Home Depot off 1431 and Parmer? Well, where does everybody go now?
Just curious.

I go check out the hot rod meet at "The Y" in Oak Hill once in a while. Every Saturday around 6:00pm til dark at the recently closed Albertson's parking lot. I took a few pictures last week if you'd like to check them out.

I've gone out to the Alberston's Oak Hill showing before, but I haven't been this year yet. I guess I haven't been the same weekend as you, Bill. Maybe we can all meet up there one Saturday night. When I've been there, I was the only VW, but people sure liked my car. It would be great to have a few of us there one weekend.

That Oak Hill one is a far piece for us Yankees in round rock....the Denny's sounds pretty cool, starting in April, have to go check it out. I heard from a Mustang buddy that they meet at the old Randalls on Parmer which is now a Worlds Gym....Shoot we got so many good shows coming up the Classic in Fredericksburg and the Blast in Temple, I'm getting pumped to see some VW's!
Thanks for the reminder on the Lonestar rod deal Bill, may cruise soco in the Bus this weekend, if we haven't floated away by then.

This is from the Austin Area Stangs (http://www.austinareastangs.com/aassite2/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=37832&highlight=saturday+night) page:
Fellow Driver,
The new location for the weekly Austin area car show has arrived.
Southwest corner of Interstate 35 and Highway 620 a.k.a. Round Rock Avenue. (map is below) Strip center parking lot…look for the McDonald’s.
Map (http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&q=mcdonald%27s&near=Round+Rock,+TX&radius=0.0&cid=30508056,-97678611,13263206346381995722&li=lmd&t=h&ie=UTF8&z=17&ll=30.509912,-97.686932&spn=0.004465,0.007231&om=1)
Show typically starts around 6pm on Saturday every week.
Lets try and keep this one alive…please be courteous. We are adults here…just use common sense.
We are all going to have to work together to make this work…so please spread the word and lets meet up and get the show going again.
A quick profile of this spot:
1. Easy to access for safe entrances/exits
2. Low profile entrances and exits for low profile cars
3. Several eating places within walking distance with restrooms
4. Heavily shaded lot for the summertime heat relief and grassy areas for lawn chairs and blankets
5. Relatively easy to find location
6. Family safe area
7. Plenty of parking to support a few hundred cars…even with full commerce!
8. Much more…

In case anyone has not heard, because of the rain, the Lone Star Rod and Custom Show was moved from Festival Beach out to the Heritage and Expo Center near Decker Lake, where the rodeo was. I'm sure there will still be a lot of action on south Congress near the Continental Club in the evenings.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm looking forward to cruising around in my bug this weekend.

Slave,
Nice pick up on the new mtg spot, there used to be a Randalls there, right behind the Mickey D's. This is great location....now to get it to stop raining....

Well I drove by the one Saturday this past weekend and there was a very good turn out.
I have word that there could also be a show on Thursdays at The Denny's Classic Diner @ 183 & Lakeline Mall Rd. I haven’t been to this one, so I don’t know the turn out, but it should be nice to have another show.

We went over just a bit before 7pm, perfect Bus weather. Lot's of mustangs, camaros, vettes, one Volkswagen!, and a really cool '41 Lincoln with a v-12.
Should be a good spot, hopefully we head up there again this Saturday nite, but we need more VW's for sure.
